Sadly there was no mentioning of Guild Wars. But considering Guild Wars 1 was one of the first and most successful games to implement this, I think you should all head over and voice your comment about it.

I've mixed feelings about F2P models as for GW2 it seems to work fine and causes me no heartache, but since Team Fortress 2 going free to play I've lost interest in playing.

Well no, GW is not F2P, it's B2P, it's pretty different.
Sure, you could say what's 20 bucks nowadays, but still it's something you pay. It might seem weird but they're two completely different models. The buying price is something that keeps away gold spammers, and makes the company not rely so much on shop and still get normal content, like it happened with GW. F2P games, for how much I like being able to play a game completely for free and knowing I can leave it anytime cause it costed me nothing, are full of gold sellers and trolls, while lacking content updates in favour of shop updates. I'd say it's a big difference.
